Six ‘Teach First’ teachers and their mentor came to Freeling House to visit the BPMA on 18 January 2008.

The teachers were shown round The Royal Mail Archive Search Room and storage areas. They were given a glimpse of the many different items held by the Archive.  As they were all history teachers, material was specially selected for potential deployment in the classroom, or to inspire schoolchildren to work further with the archive. Some teachers took the chance to try out our collection of hats!

The teachers were then shown the richness of the educational resource material the BPMA has produced. This included the resource pack created as part of our award-winning The Penny Black Changed the World project. They were given ideas for using this material to support different aspects of teaching the history National Curriculum. BPMA is always keen to help educational professionals.
