The Postman or The Night Mail Galop late 19th century
Hear this page read aloud

The elaborate decoration of the cover using gold, green and
black ink is reflected in the high price paid for this music (3 shillings). The
instructions inside say that the introduction should be sung in chorus by the
band. This expensive sheet of music may well, therefore, have been intended not for home
use but for a professional dance band. The music is for piano and voice with an
additional score for the cornet and was composed by J P Clarke. The cover was
created by Concanen & Lee.
